The project story

One coordinated renovation connecting the main house, upstairs, bathrooms, and a separate living space.

01

The starting point

The project involved several connected areas across the main house, upstairs, bathrooms, staircase, and a separate living space. Treating those areas independently would have made finish transitions and scheduling harder to coordinate.

02

The remodeling approach

The work was sequenced as one whole-home scope, coordinating bathroom remodeling, large-format tile, upstairs luxury vinyl flooring, staircase improvements, interior painting, and the separate living space.

03

The finished result

The completed home presents a more connected interior, with continuous main-floor surfaces, refreshed bathrooms, updated upstairs flooring, a finished staircase, consistent paint, and an improved separate living area.

Materials and finishes

What went into this remodel.

Main-house flooring
The original project record specifies 24 × 48-inch porcelain tile throughout the main house.
Upstairs flooring
Luxury vinyl flooring was installed upstairs. The product brand and wear-layer specification are not provided in the project record.
Rooms and finishes
Bathroom updates, a freestanding tub, staircase work, interior painting, and a separate living-space remodel formed the documented scope.

Documented scope

What changed across this whole-home remodel.

The scope below is limited to work confirmed by the original New Life project post and media. Undisclosed specifications are intentionally omitted.

01

Coordinate the whole-home scope

The work connected multiple rooms, two levels, and a separate living space so flooring, paint, bathrooms, and finish details could move forward as one project.

02

Remodel the bathrooms

The documented bathroom work included updated wet areas and finishes, along with a freestanding tub incorporated into the completed home.

03

Install large-format porcelain tile

Twenty-four-by-forty-eight-inch porcelain tile was installed throughout the main house to create a continuous, durable floor plane.

04

Update the upstairs flooring

Luxury vinyl flooring was installed upstairs, giving the second level a coordinated finish suited to everyday use.

05

Finish and upgrade the staircase

The staircase connecting the two levels was upgraded and finished as part of the broader interior transformation.

06

Paint and complete the separate living space

Full interior painting and the remodel of a separate living space helped bring the entire property into one consistent finished direction.

Planning a similar project

Decisions to bring to your own estimate.

Different floors need planned connections

This project combines large-format porcelain tile in the main house with luxury vinyl upstairs. A similar scope should identify the stair, landing, and doorway transitions before materials are ordered.

A whole-home scope needs room-by-room detail

The work spans bathrooms, floors, stairs, paint, and a separate living space. List the included work for each area so a whole-home estimate has clear boundaries.

Coordinate selections before the work sequence

Several rooms share finishes in the completed home. Discuss material availability and access between floors when agreeing on the sequence; the duration of this completed project is not recorded.
